HAVEN
You are SHOU-06, defender of HAVEN. You have been awakened and must defend from corruption! and maybe catch the corruption too and use 'em like pocket monsters.
Feel free to hit 'n' and 'm' to toggle some visual effects. One of 'em is actually kinda okay.
INFO FOR JAM RELEASE
There was supposed to be an interactive Terminal that provided much of this information, but there wasn't quite enough time to do that. Additionally, there were supposed to be various terminals scattered about that could be used for restoring stats, opening doors, etc., but due to jam limits and my own laziness, they do be missing tho.
COMBAT
There are 3 types of abilities/stats, PENETRATION, FIREWALL, and INTEGRITY. Although it can be figured out how these work through gameplay, in a nutshell: Firewall reduces penetration. Penetration is used to attack any of the stats. Integrity is effectively health points and must be reduced to 0 and then attacked again before it is boosted back up.
Any of these stats can be BOOSTED, which will increase the given stat based upon the current value relative to the max value. This means that if you boost a highly damaged stat, it will have higher odds of receiving a larger boost. Stats can be overboosted past the max stat value, however they will almost always only give 0 or 1.
CAPTURING
Glitches can be captured if they are weak enough. Capturing is simply done by weakening their stats enough to increase the capture percentage to a safe level. Each stat is considered as 33.33% of the capture percentage, so a single stat to 0 will raise the capture to 33.33%. This is checked against your penetration stat, with 0 reducing the capture by 100%. Max penetration stat means 0% and overboosting will increase the catch percentage.
Once captured, glitches can be absorbed for boosting stats (as per normal in-combat boost) out of combat. You can have one active glitch at a time (and it can be swapped out), and during combat you can use its ability. Note: Glitches were supposed to add a quarter of their own max stats to your own, but that was not implemented for the jam release.
ABILITIES
The ability descriptions and listings was left out due to being forgotten, but below are the abilities you can get from glitches and what they do. If you build from the github source, these will be available under glitch info.
- BLOCK
- Block the next 2*Ability damage up to Turns.
- PERFECT HIT
- Deal 2*Ability Tier damage on the next attacks up to Turns.
- PERFECT BLOCK
- Block the next 2*Ability Tier attacks up to Turns.
- HARDY
- Avoid becoming infected up to Turns.
- CLEAVE
- Halves enemy INTEGRITY, FIREWALL, or PENETRATION.
- RANDOM DAMAGE
- Deals random bonus damage up to Tier for Turns.
Each Ability has Tier, Turns, and Cooldown. These are randomized, with later glitches having higher tiers and turns and/or lower cooldowns.
